Recipe data stays in your browser

OvenMelt stores workspace ingredients, recipes, quotations and orders in your browser’s local storage. These details are not sent to an OvenMelt server. They are not encrypted at rest by this application, and other people with access to this browser profile may see them.

Changing the interface language

Switching language keeps calculator entries in this tab’s session storage for up to ten minutes, so the translated page can restore them. Entries are removed from this temporary storage after restoration. This does not upload inputs or change your workspace currency or shopping destination.

Backups are in your hands

Exported JSON backups contain your workspace data, including customer names and notes. Keep those files secure. Importing replaces this browser’s current workspace only after confirmation. Clearing site data, changing browser profiles or using private browsing can remove your saved work.

Website delivery

Cloudflare hosts the site and receives normal web requests, which can include IP address, browser information and requested URLs. Its handling of that traffic is described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. OvenMelt’s own fonts, application scripts and imagery are served from this site. Any enabled Google advertising services are described below.

Advertising and optional measurement

Advertising is disabled. OvenMelt does not load Google advertising scripts or third-party analytics tags. Optional first-party usage counts are described below. AdSense review has been requested, but approval and activation are not claimed. Google-managed European and US-state privacy messages have been published in the account; the site’s advertising loader remains off until the remaining setup and approval checks are completed.

If activated, Google AdSense will be restricted to the homepage and workflow guide. Google and its advertising partners may then process IP addresses, browser/device information, page URLs and ad interactions, and use cookies or similar storage for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention according to your choices. The private workspace, all calculators, the ingredient weight reference, quotations, exports and legal pages remain excluded.

OvenMelt’s advertising integration does not read recipes, customer names, prices, search text or backup files from your workspace. We do not sell workspace data or use it for model training. No marketing emails are collected. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, Google’s advertising and cookie information, and Google’s ad personalization controls.

Change advertising privacy choices

The site’s advertising integration is off, so no Google advertising consent is requested here. When advertising is activated, applicable withdrawal and opt-out controls will be available through this section and the “Privacy choices” footer link. You can already manage any existing Google advertising preferences using the links above. Clearing browser storage also removes this site’s workspace, so export a backup first.

Optional usage counts

Usage measurement is off until you choose “Allow usage counts” in the controls below. Refusing or withdrawing never limits a tool. “Turn usage counts off” stops future sends in this browser; previously aggregated totals cannot be linked back to you or individually removed. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track requests keep measurement off. Your on/off or owner-testing choice is remembered on this browser for up to 180 days, without an analytics identifier.

When allowed, the site sends fixed labels for page and tool opens, meaningful starts, successful actions, error categories, sample-workspace use, backup import, download requests and print requests. It also sends the page language, a broad viewport-size class and duration buckets. Workspace events describe only the type of action, such as saving a quotation; recipe or customer details and entered amounts remain in your browser. Counts are limited to the first event of each type per tool and error category on each loaded page.

We do not collect file contents or filenames, document text, recipe names or amounts, customer details, prices, search terms, clipboard contents, query strings, URL fragments, referrers, country, raw IP addresses, credentials, keystrokes, session replay or fingerprints in this usage dataset. We use no visitor, session or cross-site identifier and report page/action counts, not unique people or sessions.

Counts go only to a same-site endpoint and a separate OvenMelt database on Cloudflare. No raw event log is kept. Daily aggregate rows are retained for up to 330 days and test aggregates for up to 7 days; Cloudflare recovery copies may persist for up to another 30 days. Only the owner’s authenticated Cloudflare account and locally generated owner reports can read them. No usage dashboard or write credential is public.

Cloudflare still handles normal web-request data as described above. For abuse protection only, the endpoint transiently derives a daily-changing keyed value from the network address. Neither the address nor that value is saved with usage counts. Size limits, strict allowed values, rate limits and a daily collection ceiling protect the endpoint. Preview/local pages, known automation and explicitly excluded owner/test browsers do not contribute to genuine-usage totals. Collection can be incomplete because of opt-out, blockers, connectivity, duplicate suppression or collection limits.

Use “Exclude this browser from usage counts” below for owner or test work. A link ending in ?usage=off also sets that exclusion locally. Controlled verification events go into a separate test group. Optional usage counts do not activate Google ads, affiliate links or external analytics. No session replay, account signup or payment checkout is installed.

Questions and privacy requests

Contact OvenMelt at kout@me.com for help, corrections or privacy questions. If you email us, your email address and the message you choose to send are used to respond to your request. Do not include customer details, private recipes or full backup files unless needed and agreed. Email is separate from the browser-local workspace.

Delete your data

Use Workspace → Settings & backups → Clear workspace, or clear this site’s storage in your browser. Delete exported backups separately. Download a backup first if you may need the information again.

What this tool does

OvenMelt helps estimate costs and organize production. It does not certify accounting, tax, food safety or legal compliance. Sample quantities and prices are illustrative. Generated editorial scenes are not photographs of customers or a real OvenMelt bakery.

Shopping links and your shortlist

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

The equipment shelf and selected public guides contain optional links to exact Amazon.com product listings. If you follow a link and make a qualifying purchase, we may receive a commission. Amazon and its sellers handle checkout, delivery, customer service and returns.

Links contain our public affiliate tracking ID. Your browser may send this site’s origin as the referral source. We do not attach recipes, files, personal inputs or visitor-specific identifiers. We do not load an Amazon tracking script, shopping widget or pixel. Amazon’s own privacy and cookie policies apply after you open a link.

Searches and filters run in your browser. Search words are not saved or sent. Saving a product puts only its catalogue ID in this browser’s local storage, under ovenmelt.equipment-shortlist.v1. Use “Clear shortlist” on the shelf to remove it. Comparison choices last only while the page is open. If local storage is unavailable, a shortlist works for the current page only.

Commercial links are labelled. Recommendations do not change calculator results, and tools and exports remain free.

Help improve OvenMelt

Optional usage counts show which tools work and where people get stuck. Recipe details, entered values and files are never included. The tools work the same either way.
